Across our campuses, we offer a variety of afterschool programing. Enrollment in any of these programs is subject to available staffing and is available on a first come first served basis to students currently enrolled in our school programs. We are not able to provide these services to students who do not attend our school program.
Please see the information below to learn more. Please keep in mind that the times listed are the times these programs are available, students do not need to attend every day; specific student schedules can be individualized within these timeframes.
On the move is designed to focus on increase community involvement and participation in community based leisure and recreation activities. Programming takes place in and around the local community.
Students must be able to be staffed 2:1 (i.e., 2 students to 1 staff person) to participate in this program.

The Extra Steps Program is specially designed to provide opportunities for increased generalization of skills for students who require intensive support and instruction during non-school hours. The staffing ratio for Extra Steps is 1:1.
Programming for Extra Steps occurs mainly on site at the Wolf Harbor Campus. CCCD will work with families and other professionals to determine appropriate, activities, schedules and learning objectives for each individual.
Extra Steps incorporates recreational, social, safety, daily living, skill development, vocational and pre-vocational opportunities. These services are customized to meet the unique needs of each participant with a focus on generalization of skills addressed on each student’s IEP.
During the students’ August vacation, CCCD offers a week long recreational, summer camp. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy activities such as soccer, arts & crafts, swimming and more. Field trips such as the zoo, beach and/or aquarium are also built into the week. The camp is available to all CCCD students who are toilet trained, can participate is small group settings, and enjoy recreational activities. The afterschool program is designed to enable students to work on extension of academic skills, daily living skills, community participation, as well as, leisure and social skills. Programming takes place both on site at the Bridgeport Ave. Campus and within the local community.

Summer camp is not currently available at the Bridgeport Ave Campus. When there is interest from a sufficient number of families, we will consider creating a summer camp that is specifically designed to meet the needs of students at this campus. In the meantime, students from Bridgeport Ave are welcome to participate in the summer camp program offered at Wolf Harbor.
