The Outreach Program brings CCCD's mission to children in their home, school, and/or community and may include consultative services or direct instruction supervised by a behavior analyst.
A customized service plan is developed for each child based on the unique needs of the student, as well the educational environment and other resources available.
Common to all programming is the use of ABA educational strategies and supervision or consultation by a behavior analyst with extensive
education and training in the field of autism treatment. Services can include a combination of the following components:
Home Program
A curriculum is designed to meet each child's individual educational requirements in both home and community settings.
Depending on each student's unique strengths and deficits, intensive instruction is provided to teach basic and advanced communication skills, social skills, daily living skills, play skills, pre-academic and academic skills, self-help skills, leisure and recreational activities, safety skills, problem solving skills, and skills that build independence. Specific programs are developed to reduce or replace undesirable behaviors with more socially acceptable behaviors. Instructors will be provided by CCCD or may be hired privately by the family. Behavior analysts provide hands-on training to instructors, family members, educators, and relevant members of the child's community
School Support
A CCCD instructor will provide support in the classroom. The focus is on promoting independence in the classroom and providing additional instruction on tasks that are difficult for the student. A behavior analyst provides development of goals and objectives and supervision. School support is often provided in conjunction with a home program.
School or Home Consultation
A behavior analyst will observe the child at school or home and provide recommendations. On-going support will be provided as needed. Recommendations may address concerns regarding education, social skills, communication skills, or daily living skills. Hands-on training may be provided to family members, educators, and relevant members of the child's community.
